Any chance of starting a thread for a swap meet? I'd sure like to pick up some items as well as list a few.
I don't want to be puchy, just seems like a was a win-win for everyone last time.

I like the Auction and check it pretty regular, however, there was nothing more fun than the last big Swap meet here on the OLF. I would rush home, see what had been added and had a ball. I hope we can have another one as well in the future. Gets us all involved.

Yeah, we can probably do something like that. Let us mobilize the troops.

Brock...maybe there could be another swap meet but tie it into the auctions website. Maybe free listings, lots of promo, everyone kick in. Just a thought.

Seems to me like some people just have an aversion to auction style buying, mabye a bad memory of getting stung on fleabay.
I liked the previous format; it was like there was a whole classified section component to the OLF! More to browse over coffee, all the different threads - it was cool,
besides alot of ppl would list multiple items in one photo and people could speak up for each piece - Ill take the spokeshave, I like that stanley No4 etc etc
just my $.02
Cheers

If you are going to have one mabye you could do it in Feb when I will have $$$ again - JustKidding!

Yeah, I think the sense of community gives it texture that the auction format doesn't have.

We do want to continue to try to make the LA site grow and prosper, but we know that is going to be a long haul.

I think we will do a swap meet after I get a little year end stuff off my plate. Let's think toward the end of January or so.

How customizable is the design of the auction site? Is it something that
can done via a stylesheet?        & nbsp;

So be advised I blame you all that I am broke right now...... QUOTE]

Gee, what a shame...and N.E.Tonewoods should have a bunch of Honduran RW then too. Sorry Hesh, looks like others will get the stuff instead of you.

Oh, Hesh....you're in trouble. This stuff has really wide sides, beautifully quartered, sapwood on one edge.
Too bad though, since others will end up with it instead of you. Same with the backs. Really wide too, great quarter. The sad thing though is the brick red color like old Brazilian.
