We stand united here against that kind of negativity, we can understand your frustrations but your carver guy doesn't live here, i say be a man and go find this guy and settle this with him, no one needs that kind of venom being sprayed all over the place.

I checked out you site and watched your videos and I can understand that you are disappointed. But man I just gotta say, you come across as THE customer from hell and nobody is going to take you seriously.

I don't blame Bob Whoever for just wanting to give you the flick. If your approach here is any indication, I suspect that you hounded this guy for every minute of those long nine months you say that you waited. Bob Whatever was probably driven manic and trashed your axe on purpose just to give you the message not to come back.

If you ever want to discuss the construction and development of stringed instruments, and in particular guitars, this IS the place and please feel free to post again in that vein. But if you think for one second that anyone has logged on here to read your rants, you are sadly mistaken.

I too wasted my time by looking at those videos. "Here's another view of the black marks...looks like it was dragged behind a car..."
If a client sent me a keyboard case and wanted me to ship a guitar wrapped in a blanket, I'd tell them to jump in a lake.
A custom case should have been made, Romeo, and I'm guessing that you weren't willing to pony up the money to get one. So that makes it pretty much your fault that it got messed up the way it did. The blanket issue is bunk and wouldn't have protected the guitar the way a real case should have.
Let it go.

Actually Serge it seems as if today you are advertising emoticons .
What a horrible thought! Someone actually had enough time to set up a website to trash someone's work. Its my worst nightmare! It would be a website that said: "Evan Gluck assured me that the action was 3/64th at the 12th fret. Here is video of me measuring it at 3.5 /64th. I am disgusted by his incompetence!"
In reality I hope that sort of thing is not too common.

There is a clear difference between actively working toward a resolution, and
embarking on a vendetta. It would be hard to see an approach like this as
anything other than a vengeful attack with no goal of resolution.

The longer you spend being nice, polite, friendly, and "on the same side" in
conflict resolution, the better your chances usually are of leaving happy.
Come off too quickly like you did in the videos and I think most people
would see no chance of resolution and decide it best to walk away.


BTW, I'm sure we're talking to ourselves here. Romeo's not coming back. I'm
sure he's simply pasting this on every guitar related forum he finds, and
moving along to others.

   I'm really sorry that you had that experience, but have to agree that the
end result was your own fault due to a lack of responsible case selection
and purchase. Just like the case manufacturer can bear no responsibility
for your improper use of their product, the guitar maker can bear none
for honoring your wishes to have him use a case that wasn't intended to
protect his work. You're really on your own in this case.

   The case that you're showing in your video is, by no means, a flight
rated case for transporting any instrument...including keyboards. It is a
generic fit, entry level case for guys who may want to save a few bucks on
protection for their instruments and are carrying their own gear to local
gigs once or twice a week. If I spend money on an instrument, I;m always
willing to spend a premium for the proper case that is custom made to
transport it. About 30% of the instruments I build leavemy shop in a
Calton case which is the standard for industrial instrument protection by
which all other cases are measured. We can give you any of several great
case manufacturer's contact info for you future guitar purchases if you'd
like.

   The guitar is very cool in my opinion and I'll be looking out for more
work from Bob Ironside. Thanks for giving me a heads up about him and
his work. Carving is a wonderful craft that takes years of experience to
master and is something that many of us never even try in our genre of
building...except for an occasional heel carving on a neck.

    I'm always fascinated and impressed with nice carving work and I'd like
to get a close once over of the entire guitar that Bob carved for you.

    Finally, nine mon ths is no time to wait for a custom instrument since
the process is very time consuming and the artistic nature of that type of
carving should be allowed a certain margin for inspiration for the builder.

    Sorry again for your case not doing what it should have, but maybe if
you had custome keyboard made to fit the case, you would have ended
up with a better stroy to tell and a happier ending.

    The rule to remember here is....Keyboard...keyboard
case......Guitar...guitar case.....taking a nap....blankets and pillows.
