Thanks to the Colorado luthiers fearless leader Alan Dunwell for that. He does a fantastic job with our little group.

I echo Robbie's sentiment. Alan is a workhorse for our group, as well as being a phenomenal builder.

Just out of curiosity, how many luthiers are there in Colorado?
Maybe we should have a get together this summer?

Alan, our fearless leader just put out the new list of members for 2007 and there are 52 people on it. Last year we had 7 get togethers if I remember correctly.

Are these get togethers usually posted here.

I'd really like to meet some fellow members.

No Mike,

You would need to contact Alan Dunwell. He is a member here as well. He can tell you about the get togethers scheduled for 2007. One other neat thing about the Colorado Luthiers is that at each get together, which is hosted by one of the members, demonstrations are done about certain topics that the group votes on before the get together. Alan then does a write up after the get together complete with pics etc. and puts it on the Colorado Luthier's website. Whoa, not so fast bucaroos... it is a "blind" link only for members of the group. There is a wealth of information there. Membership does have its privileges.

Can you join even if you're not a real luthier, but a blow-hard wanna-be, like me?

Absolutely! I'm part of the group and I don't consider myself a Luthier. Just an obsessed hobbyist. Oh yea, and the company I run is just to keep me building and learning About 1/2 of the group is hobbyists.

Contact Alan Dunwell, and he'll get you added to our group. Look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.
Tracy
