Rich, check out this link: transferring Firefox profiles

Hesh is right, you'll need to use some sort of removeable media to do this. The file that you need to transfer isn't that big, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes I am trying to move Fire fox Bookmarks to a new computer. They are both running windows XP and are networked so moving data from one to the other is no problem. I followed the instructions above but had no luck. What I really need to do is find the File that contains the bookmarks on my old computer and then move it to the new computer. I just have no idea what this file is called and moving the contents of the profile folder to my new computer doesn't seem to do it.

Bookmarks menu -> Organize bookmarks

in the new window that pops up: File -> Export...

It'll save it as an html file.

Transfer it over to the other computer and start up firefox there

Bookmarks Menu -> Organize Bookmarks
File -> Import

Find the file and go!

I don't know how to export all of your settings though, only your
bookmarks.

Richard, try this link.

It has been awhile since I did this and I cannot find the same exact website I used which had much better directions. However, this is basically what I did at the time.

for all you guys on the dark side this may be of no help. If you are transferring safari settings it is in the setup menu when you install firefox to your applications folder,takes about 30 secs and its all there.
