if, after you get your spreaders installed the sides are still too short, call the supplier. the wrong sides may have been put in the kit. it is normal for the sides to be longer than necessary, not too short.

heh, thanks for giving those a look.. ill take some more detailed pictures today in more light. From what i have gotten from the martin instructions they say to lay the flat side(top) on a flat surface and make some sort of mold out of cardboard to go inside the two sides.. but this kit didnt even come with blue prints or an outline.. just a drawing on the back of the front piece that is missing about 8 inches worth of pencil line at the top. so im going to have to deal with that some how

would it be a good idea to clamp the front together without gap and leave the gap at the backside if i can for the inlay?

    The side set should fit reasonably. A slight gap is not out of the realm of normal. Once spread into the mold allow the gap then clamp in the tail block. Both areas , are hidden either behind the neck or the tail piece.
     Be sure to have the spreader at the waist . You can prop the blocks agains the mold with a sacrafical stick that you break and pull through the soundhole when done.
