Well as I find myself laid up for a couple of days and can't do much more
than sit on my duff in front of the computer I thought I would give a try at
getting some photos of my nearly completed first build out there.

Final buffing, bridge, frets and setup in about a week. You guys have been
a great source of help and inspiration. Especially the classical builders as I
now understand the traditional aspect. I'll just call this one a nylon string
with Torres style bracing. I'm looking forward to building the real deal.
Thanks,
Danny Vincent

Great job Danny!!!

You should be very proud. It's a gorgeous instrument! And a Florentine to boot!!!

What's the finish?

Thanks! Can't wait to get my mitts on the strings.

Alain, The finish is Mohawk hi gloss instrument Lacquer.

Serge, The next one will be an arch top mando. I think you may be a player.
I may be calling on you for some advise. Have you carved one yet?

Hesh,
Love you're site. Got a few questions for you too sometime. Beautiful work!

Cheers,
Danny

Danny, yes i'm a player but i only carved the neck of my first F-5, i didn't carve any plates yet. One word of advice though, if you have the Siminoff book, don't go with his plans because they're inaccurate, use the book as a building guide only, better to work with the Macrostie's plan from LMI for acuracy of the arches templates, or so was i told by Arnt, our F5 expert from Norway! Mark Tripp and others would also be of help!

i'll probably give it more time while the finish dries on no 3 though.

Cheers
