Hi everyone,
George Shepherd (Fingerstyle magazine) and I have just released our new "small business" seminar. Everything you always wanted to ask your CPA but couldn't remember to ask. We talk about Depreciation, Hobby Losses, Corporations vs. LLC's, Inventory, Many deductions, and lots of good tips. I even walk you thru an entire small business tax return prep and we give the filled in forms so you can follow line by line. Check it out at:

Small Business Tax

enter any name or email address you like and you will be at the main page. This seminar/webinar is like no other available so check it out. We offer a no risk, 100% satisfaction or your money back guarantee.

Thanks for looking!

For those wondering, this post replaces the musicians tax tip thread. If you are interested in that course please go to www.taxformshelp.com

THANKS BROCK & LANCE! I appreciate this opportunity.

Dave

Hmmm, I was thinking that maybe this post should be in the OFF TOPIC area, but then,

Brace yourself

Stay TUNED

I'm gonna stick my NECK out here

This will split ya SIDES

Hope I don't go burn'in ma BRIGES

Oh Lord, give me RELIEF

You guys are gonna think I'm NUTS

Dave's gonna do his BLOCK

Could find myself in a bit of a BOUT

But don't FRET

Cause in the FINISH

If anyone comes gunn'in for my BACKSIDE

I'll pull the PIN

I'll just SADDLE up

And TRANSVERSE my TAIL out of here

So, here it comes folks, the one you been wait'in for.

Oh man this is kill'in me

Are you gett'in BOARD yet

OK, OK.....

Here it is.

I guess like all this kind of stuff Dave,

It's gonna have some STRINGS attached

Sorry Dave, just can't seem to help myself and besides, bet your seminar doesnt cover Aussie, English, Canadian, Norwegian, Italian etc Tax Laws and for those who just do this as a hobby I don't see the point.

Maybe we need a section specific to the pro builders, I am sure that some of them would find this very topical.

Cheers

Kim

That was a great post. I suppose your intent was to make it so this thread becomes unreadable because of all the needed scrolling to get to the next post. o.k. VERY FUNNY.

You are right, this isn't about foreign tax returns. But that doesn't mean that you too can't learn from the course. We have all sorts of great tips on Bookkeeping, Inventory, running a business, etc.

For those of you that are Americans and don't do this full time...we have a whole section on the "Hobby Loss" rules. We talk about depreciation, where's the best place to take certain deductions, when and why to incorporate, regular corps vs. LLC's vs. being a Sole Proprietor vs. being a partnership, These two courses are loaded with information that you will not get anywhere else. You would pay a CPA a great deal of money to sit down with you, and give you all the advice we give in these courses (hours) ( even if you could get him to see you, he's so busy this time of the year, HE hasn't the time to sit with you for the literal hours that are needed). Think about it...those of you that use a CPA, when you go in to see him/her each year how time do you actually spend planning for next year? Most people are lucky if they talk much about last year never mind next year. The information we give in our courses help prepare you for your visit with your CPA this year and NEXT.

Does it pertain to Luthiery...OF COURSE...we even specifically mention Luthiers and Musicians (depending on the course) and what is needed in each profession. Luthiers are small business people just like the Plumber,Electrician, CPA, Attorney, Candy Store owner, etc.
The IRS has publically stated they are focusing on small business returns this year for audit...why?...because most taxpayers in the U.S. are just that. Statistics show that it's the small business person who files most of the erroneous tax returns or not at all. They want money...who do you think they are going to go after ? The big corporations?
This course is very relative to Luthiery.

One more point...I truely feel that this course is worth every cent that is being asked. If anyone buys the course and is dis-satisfied in any way. You will get a 100% refund of your money.

For those of you thinking it's o.k. to ruin someone elses thread because you simply don't like the content or it doesn't apply to you... Take another lesson...THAT's Not the principles this Forum was built on. Lance and Brock have been very generous and kind to allow me to make this post. Many other vendors selling all sorts of products do the same. Their threads are constantly bumped by comments or order placement. My thread requires none of that and therefore I occaisionaly bump the thread. I am also working against a time deadline April 17, 2007 - this years filling deadline. None of the other vendors have such a deadline. So if my thread seems to be up top more often it's because I need to keep it there for those of us
( I am one) who procrastinate and wait until the last minute to file.

THANKS FOR UNDERSTANDING.
David S BLAND, CPA

Hey Dave,

No probs with a man promoting his business but I get enough of that on TV on the radio on billboards on milk cartons cereal packets bus stops magazines every freak'in where i look i get people ram'in their stuff down my throat and most of it I DO NOT WANT, NEED or have ANY interest in. But I put up with cause others may want that stuff in the big wide weird world.

Problem I have Dave is that what you are offering here at the OLF is something that I find to be TOTALY removed from guitar building and is specific only to business and your own day job. In fact, your promotion happens to be in an area that not only do I find holds no interest at all for me, but as a rule, I try to avoid as much as possible.

I agree that other sponsors advertise and promote their products here at the OLF but it is there that the similarity ends Dave. You see I feel that we as a collective group of people come to the OLF because of a mutually shared interest in guitar building, it's associated material, hardware, and tools. So I gotta say, when one of them other sponsors pumps the goods Dave, it excites me in a way that TAX NEVER WILL.

I noticed in your earlier post that you made mention that we all pay tax so you reason that your product is therefore relevant to us all. Well Dave, I hope we all wipe our backsides when required as well, but I don't see no sprook'in post from Mr Kleenex here.

I just reckon that this topic does not belong on the main forum because it is not related in ANY way to the building of guitars, that is my opinion, and you won't change it.

If you want to drum up business Dave, just do good work buddy, word will spread and business will follow. Seriously, I mean no offence, just a defence against the amount of spam that floods my world, I just don't come here for that.

Regards

Kim

Kim,
It's really not your place to decide who posts what or where. That's up to Lance and Brock. You have no need for my wares...good I don't want to waste my time on you. YOU feel that the product doesn't relate to luthiery...well if that's your opinion it must be true. One other point...this isn't a democracy, this forum, It's a small business, owned by Lance and Brock...they are the ones that decide what goes and what stays, not you.
You by your very words...indicate that you could care less about what us Americans need because what I am selling doesn't pertain to you. That's pretty selfish. You stay in austrailia. When you save up all your pennies and get enough to come to America...pay me visit, by all means...I would love to meet you.
