I love wooden rosettes like this and the theme of the Koad is a really nice touch.

Rosette looks really great, Hesh, do you cut that out with the dremel?

The top looks great, too. It looks like your wider grain is at the center and they get tighter moving out toward the edges of the top. Is it an illusion? I've been putting the tighter grain in the center.

Well, yeah, that would be sort of hard to get over. In our wedding photos (way back in '76) my Dad is proudly wearing shiny white shoes...with an otherwise fine-looking suit. What were we thinking back then?
Anyway, in such small doses like your purfling, white isn't quite so garrish; and in fact looks totally appropriate. Now if you bind that guitar with white, we'll all be thinking Joe Namath.

That's one beautiful and tasteful rosette, Hesh! All the wood colors for the whole guitar seem just right for each other.

Hey Hesh, glad you are feeling like making dust again. Can you give just a newbies run down on how you did this rosette. Did you rout the whole channel at one time then fit the pieces? Did you cut the whole rosette out of one piece of koa or book match scraps or what? I have only done rosettes with purf lines so far but am planning on the wood type next. Any tips are appreciated.
