Bill,

I'm really looking forward to this as well. I know you said "bring nothing", but I'm going to bring some soft drinks, beer and chips - unless there's something else that would fit better. Also, I'm in south Charlotte and would be happy to give anyone in the area a ride. Although I'll need to leave the event in the late afternoon, the wife's birthday is Saturday as well.

Bob

Just got an email from Brad Nickerson to indicate that he is coming as well, and bringing a friend who also builds.

I will let you know that if you have any questions regarding building an archtop, or if building an archtop has been in your mind, Brad would be one of the people to speak with about it. His archtops are amazing. In fact, he built one of the famous "Blue Guitars" for the Scott Chinery collection...that guitar later sat in the Smithsonian for a time. Brad's a former instructor for the Leed's Guitarmaking School, and the guy I built my first guitar with.

So folks, remember to bring questions to this event, as it looks like a decent number of experienced builders are going to be there. This should be fun.

I have backed myself into a corner with guitar construction and absolutely must work all day Saturday to get a project finished for a customer who is coming over Sunday to take delivery. Unexpected setup issues don't ya know coupled with a few finish blems that I am hoping I can resolve in one day.
I really hate to back out on the gathering but plan to for sure make the next one.
   You guys have fun.

John:

OK, but you're going to miss my wife's cooking, which means I'll simply have to eat more. In essence, you're causing me, and others, to gain weight.

Good luck with your Saturday work, and don't forget I plan on making the trip up your way sometime soon for a visit. Thanks for letting me know.

Bill
