Hey Hesh,

Thanks for sharing this! I need to get them to send me one of those!

I’ve been to their site, and have checked out the kit wizard. What an innovative idea!
Anyone just starting to build, will find the kit wizard is great way to put a guitar building package
together. There are a lot of different ways to go, with lots of options!

Thanks again, Robert

i'm waiting a couple of kits at the minute, which i ordered through the wizard. it idnt quite work the first couple of times because of a securtiy setting at my end - and they contacted me imeadiately and helped me sort it out. they even offered me a discount on my order because of it, and it was my fault! I dont expect service like that - in the UK you'd be told where to get off if that happened!

for us outside the States you can just swap out the stuff that they cant ship abroad in seconds, its very cool.

you can also put kits together and save them for later, tweak em to get it perfect and just hit 'Go'...love it!

and for numbskulls like me it saves forgetting the little parts that arent at the fore of your mind, well done LMI!

Great!  I have an order on it's way right now from LMI, maybe the new catalog will be in the box too.  I have to agree, LMI and Stewmac have a lot of really good info in their catalogs.

I got the new LMI catalog and the new Stew Mac catalog on the same day. The LMI one does look like it's a lot fatter these days.

BTW, did anyone else notice who Stew Mac is using for a quote on their acoustic guitar kit? It is our own master builder, Hesh. Geeze, wish I had one of Billy's pics to insert here.

i think the best new thing they have included in the new cattle dog is the bridge drilling jig. it's not the perfect solution, and is rather pricy, but it does simplify things for those who, for what ever reason, do not want to build their own jigs.

as i've never built from a kit because such things weren't even imagined when i might have benefited from them, nor had a desire or need to build from one since they became available, the kit builder is a non-event for me. but for those starting out, it surely simplifies and makes more economical the exploration of the range of options available to the individual builder.
