Abalone purfling is in, and all I need is one back binding to go on do some scraping sanding and its ready to finish!
Once again, the semi double top made a huge difference in the way to top rings.... deeper bass and sustain.
I'm very happy with it!

Peter, Theoretically, will the double top be more resistant to changes brought about from RH extremes? Also, is there more of the redwood or more of the other?

From my expirience with double tops, changes in humidity will affect these tops equally (unfortunately!)

Normally on Semi doubles, I leave more of the top layer unless real unstable or weak wood.

Steve, after all the research I have done on double tops plus the few I wasted trying, running the grain perpendicular stiffens the too much and actually dampens a lot of the sound. No good....

Keep in mind, my semi-doubles inner layers are not solid but empty in areas that I believe help loosen the top and still keep is strength.
