What do you guys think of using 24.9 scale for slack key (Hawaiian) guitar open G tuning.  Will the strings be too slack?  I have small hands so the idea has some appeal for my first guitar build.

Rich,

I think you will be fine. I recently finished a Concert sized guitar with 24.6" scale length and it sounds great in Open G with 0.012"-0.053" strings. If the strings are too slack for you then just use heavier gauge strings.
