Well Folks,

I was on my way to work this morning when my mobile rang. I know that I should not answer it while driving but it is dark here now at 5:30 am so what the hey.

Turned out to be a good old friend of mine and we got to having a good chin wag. He had a new email address that he wanted me to jot down so I could send him some stuff.

Well, as I was pulling up to a set of traffic lights talk'in on the phone and fumbling around in the dark for a pen I've misjudged how far away the car in front of me was and, you guessed it, Ive bumped, all be it very softly, into the back of it.

Well feeling a little embarrassed and guilty I quickly hung up on my mate and got out of the car to see if any damage had been done. There was no damage at all to the front of my old beast and just a tiny little scuff to the paint work of the rear bumper of the car in front.

By the time I had made my assessment, the other guy had made his way to the back of his vehicle. I looked around as I heard him grumble something and noticed then that he was a dwarf. He looked up at me with a scowl on his face and said in an angry tone "Are you insured" to which I said "Gee mate, steady on, it's only a little scuff." To which he replied " Well I'm not happy" To which I replied "Well, which one are you then" To which he simultaneously extended his middle finger and bottom lip at me and then drove off.

Cheers

Kim

Gadnabit Kim!   I woke the dead laughing! That was so wrong. It really was.

Now my sides hurt.

I always thought of my second son in this way, Grumpy. And even called him grumpy for a time. I didn't want to warp the little guy so I quit.

I would occasionally call him Oscar the Grouch too. He's nearly my size now, so all that is a fading memory.

I'm glad you had a finger, rather than a fight! OOOOPS!
I suppose that's a fairly international gesture?

Kim got the Bird from Grumpy!

Another hilarious moment from you, brother Kim. Keep 'em coming. I'm sitting in a hotel lobby in Virginia right now and I really did laugh out loud!! Great way to start my day, thanks!

Ha Ha Ha!!! Coincidentally I was sitting in a hotel lobby in Virginia like Ron when I read this (that was earlier today and I am now in a Maryland hotel) I too let out a laugh when I read it. You have to preemptively forgive me for using this story as my own...

You really had me rolling with when you said you knew he was Grumpy all along!! You're too much.... loved it.

Kim, you have such a way with words. You really do. I don't think you have ever posted a "dud" that I've read.

Now I realize that there is a bit of water in between us, but if you ever get seriously interested in writing, let me know. Sweetie isn't directly in the business, but does have contacts in the publishing industry.
