This vid shows how to deal with Bears. I never thought this was possible! If your squeemish you might want to pass this one up, but it would probably work!

i heard from Ray Mears that in Siberia/ Tigre Forest, the women run into bears while out picking berries.

how do they scare them off?

well, they just lift their dress apparently!

dunno what they got under there that scare off bear, but i'd like to find out! (i think)

if anyone else in the world had said it, i'd have been sceptical, but the Mears-meister has lived with them, and i actually believe him...or belive he was told it anyway
