Better get on with some guitar building...

It all started with this..



Two months worth of rainfall fell in 24 hours...

This is something never seen by the local farmers who were born & bred in this area..this stream is normally 1ft deep and ten foot below this large bridge.



It's so deep, not even 4x4s can pass. Better not chance it with my car, eh?



These cows better move to higher ground soon, heaven knows why they are just "standing there"!!!



This stream runs just outside my house... Dunno WHAT I'm gonna find tommorow morning, when the floodwaters peak....

Hope you're living on high ground. Stay safe, please!

In the meantime, since you may be house bound... get busy in your shop!

Thanks Hesh. Looks like the floodwaters have peaked, so hopefully it's all back to normal soon!

Hope you are OK and the water is dropping somewhat, although there's supposed to be more rain on the way tomorrow. It could be worse - you could be in Sheffield

Somehow I don't think a dehumidifier would be much help but a good pair of wellies is a must - or a boat. To quote the late great Spike Milligan it might be a case of "Armageddon out of here!"

Sam, stay tight, more rain on the way according to the forecasts, and as Dave said you could be in Sheffield or South Yorkshire, whole villages evacuated because of the risk of the dam giving way.

Still no hosepipe bans this year!

Well, we've had a minor rail line go, a gas main broken, two bridges completely collapsing in local towns, and villages cut off for having 2ft deep floods, and graves opened...

I managed to get to work today cycling through felled trees and dead sheep and spent the day trying to please old ladies who were trying to study in the gloom of an unlit college because we had no electricity.

At work I telephoned a supplier in South Yorkshire today and after I placed my order, we consoled each other about the weather...

Ahhhh, British life....

It really makes you truly grateful for certain things...

It sure does sound like a bad time in England! I know how tough floods can be,living here on the gulfcoast of Florida. Try to stay high and dry and I hope the rains subside.

Sam, I hope you folks are okay. I am just off the phone with my daughters who are in Glasgow and they told me that the flooding has continued.

The floods have subsided, and I am seeing a few "Flood Damage Specialist" vans driving around (how do they SUDDENLY appear? )

Seeing that tornado in Canada, reading of the Southern European heat wave really puts things into perspective. Mad world...

The weather is definitely mad at the moment Sam.

We've had drought here in Victoria for the past seven years.

Stage 4 water restrictions which means no watering of gardens, no car washing, sports grounds can't be watered.

Then in the last three weeks the heavens have opened up.

Have a close look at the last pic. Rolled on the floor when I saw it.
