I am so mad right now at myself for this dumb mistake I made routing the binding channel. I don't know why I went to far and cut into the end graft purflings!!
Does anyone have any ideas to repair this besides routing out the end graft and making a new one? I really don't want to just trim off the purfs and have no mitres either! Any help out there guys ?

If you have the ability to make your bindings a touch taller, you can re route a bit deeper (the depth of the purfs) and then you'll have the miter situation you want.

Yes, Thanks Paul. I wonder how it will look with wider bindings on one side.hopefully ,not to noticable.

I assuming we are talking .06". Thee truth is you will notice it but no one else will

Dave, I did the same thing recently on a backstrip purf...

If you can't do what Paul suggested, you should just do the end graft again. It's just one step back.

We've all been there. By far the easiest imho is to make a new end graft with purflings. You don't even need to use the router - careful use of a good sharp chisel should do the job for you.

Come to think of it, Dave W is right. Far less risk at cutting that out and starting it again.

That does seem a bit easier than making new bindings, bending them,re-routing and all. Thanks for the help - Bob and Dave.
