Craig,
I've noticed a marked improvement in your material selection in the last couple of years. Are you consciously taking the stuff you heard from Judy Threet into account? If so, it is really showing! So many other inlays that I've seen look like the "ColorForms" I used to play with as a kid.

Great job.

You know I did enjoy her talk and obviously learned a bit from seeing her pieces, and from her discussion, but honestly I just think I am just growing into understanding what materials I can obtain to fit the image and mood I am trying to create. I actually drew out this scene 6 years ago with two hammerheads, I just got the chance to do it with great whites this time at bat. The materials choices would have been the same back then, I just might not have had the pearl stash to resource it out. The more marine life I do the easier it becomes to recreate reality. I know marine. With people and faces I just seem to get lucky sometimes. I seem to be able to create a mood with pearl better as well, something that just develops as one does more art, be it inlay or paint.
