How thin is "thin"?

I wouldn't hesitate to use that. And even then is it in a spot where a pick guard would cover it?

Hesh, I had a similar situation with one of the early builds and tried to sand it out. I did succeed in sanding it out, but left a "divot" in the top that stuck out like a sore thumb when I put the finish on it.  Since then, I have switched over to sanding the top to an acceptable look and then thicknessing the top by sanding from the back side.

Hesh, flip it over, bind the soundhole and do a Woolson style rosette-less top

Great looking stuff out there folks. I wish I were in the shop more. Right now I have a 3/4 finished Fox/Woolson neck tenon jig being built. The cedar/maple guitar has been sitting for about 6 months now, have the celtic imbuia/cedar guitar also sitting for about the same amount of time.

Doug nice clean spring there (you guys call them kings right) That must have come out the ocean, not to many river runners that clean. Where'd you bring that on in at?

Black Limba w/Cocobolo bindings. Lutz top. This one is an acoustic bass...or at least it will be once we move into our new house and my new shop.
