According to the Melvyn Hiscock book:

The secret to making a small fortune as a guitar builder is to start with a large fortune.

But if you're building guitars and you start with a large fortune, how do you keep it from becoming a small fortune?

Er, I'll have to finish reading the book. If you get elected, Billy (and I'm voting for you), you'll have a fortune. That's what politicians do.

It could be worse.... you could buy a boat instead.

There'd be enough mahogany in the boat to make a lot of guitars, though, if you change your mind!

I had a boat once, but now I'm building guitars. Is there a trend here that I'm not seeing?

You're crazy Brock, our boat is the best fun our family has together! Of course you're right though, a boat is just a hole in the water you keep pouring money into. I wonder how many sets of guitar wood I could buy for what I've spent on boating? Hmm, come to think of it, maybe you're not so crazy...
