Here's something I came up with recently. It is a removable armrest that uses rare earth magnets to affix itself to the lower bout of the instrument. It should be useful because it can be used on different instruments (assuming the lower bout is roughly the same outline)and gives the customer a chance to hear and feel the difference an armrest makes. The curve on the armrest is laminated and the magnets (2) are countersunk into the laminates. The other magnets simply go inside the instrument and find the other magnets. I cannot believe how strong rare earth magnets are. This sucker isn't moving. There is a thin piece of rubber that protects the finish on the instrument on the inside curve of the armrest. The nice thing is it will fit inside a case while still attached to the instrument. let me know your thoughts, comments, improvements, etc (sorry the pictures are so blurry). That looks cool! I just hope your customers don't have their credit cards near where they play as you could also be offering a credit control service
