Steve,

That turned out incredible! I think I can speak for Tim as well as myself in saying that we are both proud to have our efforts rewarded with such wonderful work! This is truly why we do this.

Thanks again!

Shane

Steve - I know there are some good builders showing guitars there, but yours must be the absolute gem of the show! Great work!

That gallery owner ought to be paying you to have it there.

Awesome!!! Great job!
Your bridge looks similar to the Ryan bridge....is that new or have you always done it that way?

You guys know how to make a bloke feel good.
Thank you for your kind words.
Some answers--
Bob, I'll try to give a review of the more mature sound as it comes back home in a few weeks. Unfortunately, it's not being played...it's just hanging on a wall. Nonetheless, the woods are all getting used to being under tension, so it should be changing some.

Dave, this one isn't for me. I can't afford my guitars. It's ultimately for Danny Brevard of Acoustic Pro Musician.

Allen, when I squint I can see that owl. However, one of your Aussie mates a few weeks ago (was it you, Kim?) spotted the map of Tasmania, and now that's really stuck in my mind's eye.

Peter, this has been my bridge design since 1980. I'm going to bet that K. Ryan was inspired by David Russell Young (as was I), who was himself inspired by the old Guild bridge shape. Very little originality out there, just variations on a theme.

Joshua, I'll hang a guitar in your gallery any day!

Shane, what can I say? You sold me a superior piece of wood, that was expertly processed! Many thanks to YOU!
By the way, Tim sent me another piece of killer TTM, and it's going to get another of your tops. I hope to bring this next guitar to H'burg.

Thanks friends, your kindness is most rewarding.

Steve

Outstanding Steve! Great choice of woods, the monochrome bindings look fantastic!

I'm speechless, as in my jaw dropped, so ditto on what everyone else has said.

Steve - A beautiful guitar.  I can hear is wonderful tone through the internet....

BTW, your photography is also VERY good.  I was impressed with the low key background and diffuse lighting.

Steve,
I would love to hear some sound clips of that beauty!

BTW, how did you like to work with that myrtle?

Thank you again, friends.
Oh, by the way, you knew I was kidding when I said:
"I can't afford my guitars"... right?? I could have put a smiley face there, but I don't want to rely on emoticons too heavily as a crutch , as I think they end up weakening the power of the written word , so I try not to use them too often . There.

Anyway, Steve, thanks for the kudos on the photography. That comment is gratifying, as these pix were professionally done. Those shots cost me some $$.

Peter, I loved working w/ the Tiger Myrtle. It bends readily, perhaps not as readily as walnut, but not too far differently. Sands easily, leaving your paper asking for more. It is a closed-pore wood, which makes finishing a dream. There's nary a drop of pore filler on this guitar. None needed. 2 coats of sealer, and it's off to the races. So yes, I enjoyed the experience!
Get yourself some, for sure. (I hope Tim gets swamped with ordsers! )

Steve

I have just arrived back in Perth from my twice yearly trip to Tasmania. Well done on the Tiger-Lutz.

This is a real favorite of mine, Steve. It's beautiful! Perfect choice of materials, Great design and just the right amount of sparkle!

Great job Bro. I think this may be your best yet. With all the pearl, I must say that the dark fingerboard with the K on the 12th fret is just perfect.

Wow, I missed this one. Steve, you are building some of the nicest guitars on the planet. You have a very good eye for woods and materials that work together. Good stuff. I'm doing my first lutz topped guitar now, but I think I used the scrap wood Shane put in the box to protect the wood he sold me. Whatever it is it's nice and stiff!!

Mike, we've been missing you amigo. Glad you stopped by!

Tim, I was hoping you'd see this before it dropped off the charts. Thanks again for such outstanding wood! Did you get a LOT more on your trip to Tasmania?

Bob, as an admirer of your work, I'm truly flattered!

Todd, Demerol or not, I appreciate your high marks. Many thanks.

Bro, thanks for that. I worried about what to do as far as decoration was concerned. MichaelP and I kicked around the concept of where to put the logo, and once I had committed myself to this course of action, I was second-guessing myself bigtime. And who knows? Maybe I was wrong...but it's a bit late now.......

John(H), that second sentence of yours is way over the top, but I appreciate good hyperbole when I see it! And you know, it does leave a certain warmth in its wake. You'll love the Lutz, packing material or not.

Thanks guys,

Steve
