So I laminated my braces (spruce/CF, a la Grumpy), thicknessed them, radiussed them, have a threesome of tightly jointed X-braces ready to glue (one for the top, two for the back) but I'm wondering what kind of glue to use.

Right now, I'm leaning towards medium thick CA, otherwise hide glue, ie the two glues I've got that dry hardest/most crystalline.

Thoughts?

Well, I'm pretty sure that Mario uses Hide glue for every part of the guitar but for the fb to neck (I think, but don't quote me) So I think hide glue would be your best choice of the two you mentioned.

Hopfully Rick Turner will chime in here too. He uses CF for lots of his building.

For major wood to CF, I'll use thick CA.   For gluing braces to the top where it's all or mostly wood to wood, I favor HHG. For much of the rest of the guitar body, I'll use LMI white glue. For fingerboards, it's WEST epoxy.   For laminating my "skateboard" 5 layer curved back-of-peghead overlays, it's Franklin's polyurethane; to glue them on, it's back to WEST epoxy. For celluloid bindings, it's Duco or equivalent. For quickie bindings, ab purflings, rosettes, etc., it's seal the wood with shellac and then use CA. For top and back seams, HHG. For frets, it's thin CA. For laminating necks, it's WEST.

Yeah, I'm all over the map, but there's logic backed by experience in each choice.
