Sorry for the delay in doing this. I'm going to place an order with Gurian on Monday, 11/19. If you would like any of the following, please let me know how many and I'll get them to you. You can pay me via paypal. Add 3% to your order for Paypal fees and $20 for me to count your things out and ship them to you priority mail. If you're in Canada we'll figure out actual charges.

Thanks for making that so easy to follow, Steve. Unfortunately you'd
need to get an entire layup of the b/w/b purflings

James - What constitutes a layup?  How many pieces?

Thanks,

Hey Steve,

From Gurian's website

"We have a $200 minimum order AND a "Single Lay-Up" or "Board" minimum.
All of our orders of binding and purfling are based on the cutting of a
5 3/4" to 6" wide laminate, veneer, or board, called a "Lay-Up". We
require that you purchase the entire "Lay-up". The yield of a given
lay-up is dependent on the width (or height) to which the binding or
purfling is cut"

For purfling like BWB 10/15/10, it's about 75 pieces.

Thanks Greg!  I suppose the next question is anyone else interested in B/W/B purfling of these dimensions?  I could up my quantity to 16 but that would still leave ~60 for a 'lay-up."

Or, I could get them form SM or LMI or Allied......

Steve-
You've got the situation described pretty clearly there.
I did a Gurian 'group buy' last summer- the result for me was ordering more of everything than I needed, so that I could 'save' a lot of money.

It seemed a convincing argument at the time!
Here's the way it goes- 20 strips from LMI for $38 or 80 strips from Gurian for $56....
And you can get any widths you want(like 10/15/10) when you order from Gurian.
Happy 'strategizing'!

Cheers
John

Well....... I could buy the whole layup and then sell the rest at the next swap meet!!!!  Or, I can make my own from the colored fiber sheets I bought from Shane during the swap meet.   I just need some white fiber.

So, James, I will recalculate without the wbw and send you the paypal.  Thanks!
