Don't you just love opening up a gift or present and finding something actually better than you expected? And isn't it really great when you realize the value is far more than what you thought it would be?
Last night, the winning $151.9M Powerball ticket was drawn, and the winner happens to be in my state. So I pull out my tickets from the last several weeks, and realize......I didn't buy a ticket for last night's drawing. Rats.
So I needed something to cheer me up for not being the newest multi-millionaire in my state, so I decided to cut into a board I've had sitting around.
Except for a small knot, it's much nicer than anticipated.

Brock, Peter, Lance....you guys looking?

I could easily get one or two flitch sets out of this. There's a long crack that will fall outside the good part of the wood, but won't effect getting the backs from the middle of the board.

Not bad....it may not be a $151.9M Powerball ticket, but it sho' is nice....

No...no, unfortunately, no I'm not. Nowhere near it. Pretty much at the other end of the spectrum I'm afraid.
But... I got a couple fantastic sets of wood to sell which will at least pay a bill or two. That's a good thing though!
:-)

So what do you like better...this, or the other set?

Probably the other set, but it would be a coin toss.

I will take both when the time comes. :-)

Perhaps, but I'll want Premium prices for this....! You know, like on that wood dealer's site where they get all the great old stuff and put it up there for the price of a good used car.

Oh look. What's it going to hurt? Besides your checking account, that is....

Hey with a 151 million powerball win you would probably end up miserable like all these other winners do. Nice wood like that can never make you miserable.

I'd like to try.  I always wanted those kinds of tax problems.
