This could be an option for 220V. Buy a step up/down transformer and a variable speed router controller. Total cost would be around $80.

I know this won't work for the overseas crowd not on 110V power, but I found the router speed controllers on sale at Harbor Freight a few months back for $7.95. They had a whole bin of them. I bought 3 of them....

Keep your eyes open for HFs sales. I get some really good stuff there. I got a bunch of UHMW platic cutting boards there once for less than $2 each. Those things also have a million and 1 uses.

I'm now quite seriously considering selling on the 220V blanket, buying a big transformer, and simply running the stuff at 220. Doubly so when you compare prices for power tools in the US and here.
