Now that I`m calmed down a bit, let me explain a little about the walnut sets I posted awhile ago. I aquired a pretty large piece of Claro Walnut (I believe it`s Claro), and was contemplating putting some of it up for grabs on our forum. I got a couple inquiries, and decided to quit thinking about it and get my butt in gear.
What I ended up with here is six backs and three sets of sides out of that piece. backs are flatsawn, sides are really close to quartered. Sides should be a breeze to bend. There`s two more backs from different stock that has a lot of spalting and pinknots. Only one set of sides to go with them, and they are in the form of three 8" 32" pieces that can make up one pair of sides. These are flatsawn and might work OK. Age on the wood from the first set is about 8 years indoor stored. Took me a long time to deal it off the guy. The other sets, labelled "schiener" are from a bunch of lumber I got from a small mom&pop sawyer business that I did work for about 10 years ago.(had that board under my workbench from that time and never even had a notion that it was walnut). Schiener is just the name of the old fellow who sawed it up with his little Farmall and homemade buzz saw.
So... There it is. If you can make sense out of the pics, and you`re interested, please pm me. I`d rather keep my dealing off the forum so as to not get any vendors or others ticked off at me. First come first served, with Lance first, since he asked first, Dennis Leahy, and MikeP following.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks, Cocephus
