Hi Guys

Yet again the forum saves me a lot of time and trouble, I was setting up a guitar today and it sounded great, except for the big E which just sounded washed out, normally I would tinker with the nut and check the string seating etc. The other day I read a post by Paul W talking about bad strings, I have never had one before, but I changed the string and hey presto problem solved.

Thanks Paul

Glad it worked out for you. Until recently, I would have done the same. Tinker with the nut/saddle, probably screw them up, have to make new ones, THEN think about the strings. Now it's the first thing I think of.

Hmmm

I never thought of that. Makes sense. I will be on the look out for problems do to bad strings.I'm wondering if that could have saved me some grief and lots of time making new nuts and saddles when I thought they were the probelem.

Josh
