Jeff-The scientific name is Chlorophora excelsa. I bought the wood from a shipping company that had a container of wood that wasn"t claimed. I paid 6.00 a bf, but I have no idea what the usual selling price is.

Have you checked out an African Wood called Bengi. It is a
form of Bubinga (same family), comes in wide boards like
Bubinga and has that salmon look to it like the wood in your
picture.

Ken..I've never heard of Bengi. Just stumbled on this African Teak and probably paid a little too much but, couldn't resist it due to all good qualities it has. I usually stay with the Native Brazilian hardwoods.
