I just finished my second round of leveling my lacquer finish and buffed it out...by hand.
At this point I had hoped to be done with the finish except for final polishing. However, I have a few spots, around the edges where I apparantly leveled through the lacquer down to the wood.
My question is should I shoot more coats of lacquer on the entire body or just try to touch up the bare spots?
If re-spraying the entire body what grit do I need to use to prep before shooting laquer again?....I'm thinking 600
How many coats should I spray to avoid coming up with some new bare spots?

I shoot 9-11 coats and block sand every 3 coats [dead flat] after it has cured for 24 hours. You can shoot a couple coats on the thin areas after scuffing with 400. Let that set for a couple days, block sand entire box with 400 and then shoot 3 wet coats and you should be fine. Let nitro cure for 30 days before buffing. This allows it to off gas, cure and shrink.

Thanks Tim.
Back to spraying :)
So far I actually am happy with how the finish is looking overall.
