Here is a couple of pics of the wood I got in for some of the OLF'ers. It just arrived today. This set is unsanded and still looks wonderful! I sanded a small set tonight but the customer already has it so I didn't get pics. All the sets I have have been sold but I will be trying to get more, I already have the word in with my buddy in Aus.

This wood looks very different from the Acacia that Don Williams was selling. That wood looked like a somewhat less red Koa.

Hi Jeff, these sets are $230 USD.

Mike, these sets are certainly much bolder in colour than the other Acacia sets I have but will be a bit darker looking because they are rough. They are certainly heavily flamed also, wonderful sets, really! I will see if I can't sand a set and take more photos tonight. But remember, photos really don't show true colours well. I guess this is where faith in the seller becomes an issue and why most of us say "if you don't like it, we'll take it back...no questions asked!"

They look much more of an orange-red than most black acacia, which has a
range of browns and golds similar to Koa.

Can you wipe a board with mineral spirits before taking the photo? I see a
little curl in the center of the back, but it will show better with the board
wetted.

When all else fails, clean the shop.

I have swiped a copy of the pic and played with it on my graphis program (Gimp) and no gama correction I do makes this stuf look like Black Acacia in color. That does not mean a lot as I have to imput the correction values, but this stuff does look very red for Black Acacia.

I'll sand a set tonight and wipe it down then take another picture. Still, photos are difficult to get the real impact of these sets. But, by GOD, I'll try!

Use a black, DARK green or DARK blue background and as white lighting as possible and the color should be pretty true. yellowish incondesent lights are natorius for messing with both film and digital cameras color.
