On one of the current projects on my bench, a curly Nara OM, I decided to pore fill before I put the top on. In the past I have done this after the box was complete.

Anyway after I was happy with the fill on the back and sides rather than sanding down my final skim coat of Zpoxy I decided to leave it on till time for final prep. This has seemed to ad some resilience from damage to the back and side assembly as I move it around the shop.

I will have to touch up and fill the bindings after the box is complete but the bindings are not very porous so there will not be much. The back binding is on by the way.

Just curious if others have done so.

No but Tim wishes he had. Sorry Tim, I just could hep-mysef. I really do hope you find some way around that mess although it sounds pretty bad.

Interesting. Thing is, my rims stay put in the mold until the box is closed, so not really an option.
