My first thoughts were wow, nice contrast, this guy is gonna be good!
Don't duck unless you like living near the bottom...

It's a great inlay, thematically and in execution.

It's your initials that need work!

Thanks Craig. That means a WHOLE lot coming from an inlayer of your genius.
It's good to see ya around again ! I, (and probably hundreds of others ) , have really missed ya!
Thanks for your encouraging words and for the help you gave along the way with my inlay questions.
I did notice that that the C.A. and ebony dust can shrink down after being french polished ,and had to go over it a few times to get level. Is this normal ?
Now !!!!! ,,,,,,,What am I to do with my initials ???
I could perhaps inlay beside the inlay (not Craig Lavin the master inlayer ). Geez!!... a lot of extra inlaying !!
Perhaps change my name ? I'll consult my wife ,as I know she has another name for me at times
Also , Don and Kim , you guys are too kind
What are you working on Kim ? Give me a P.M. some time if you wish. I'd love a yarn.

Kindest regards to you all ,

   KiwiCraig

I'm here almost every day. I have just been working on a lot of smaller inlays for people. Not much worth posting or updating my site over.
That said, I do have more than a few bigger and fancy pieces in the works and I promise to make them visible here when they are finished.
Leave your initials the way they are. I never inlay my initials anyway...

Craig L.

It does shrink often.
I doubt it was the french polish that made it so, but I have little expertise in finishing techniques.

Dust and CA though does shrink (actually it's the CA that shrinks).
Make sure you have glue filling most of the cavity to begin with, and wait a day or so after leveling to let it shrink, then fill over the edges again with more Ca.

Good luck.

Craig L.
