Got my new bandsaw today, Not a Laguna but I like it.

Looks good. Time to cut some b/s.

Oh, you are gonna love it. Nice guides and you'll love the foot brake. It kicks the motor out, and stops the wheels.

Nice acquisition, love the brake part of that machine also.

Beautiful looking saw. Like Bruce said, you are gonna love the foot pedal.

That be the one. I'll have to run a 220V line/recpticle over to the saw.

It seems to be a very well made machine. Everything squares up nicely and is stable when it is locked.

The blade guides are all bearing guides both top and bottom, and are just standard size bearings. Easily obtainable when one goes out.

It is replacing a Craftsman 12 in. bandsaw that I have has since 79, so you can see why I am thrilled with this one.

Huskey, we want to see a close up of those guides. If they are all ballbearing, gee it's a better deal! I saw a pic with cool blocks with bb thrust?

Bobc, Thanks, I'll let you know when I get it going.

Bruce I will get a pic of the guides. I think I mis-called them. I think they are called Roller Disc Guides and the thrust bearing is a ball bearing(6203zz).

I have bearing guides on my 18" delta. One hidden draw back with them is if you use the fence in close to the blade and the piece you are cutting is thin (brace stock?) you can't get the blade support to come all the way down to the piece you are working.

It is only a small drawback but worth mentioning if you are considering buying a saw with these guides or upgrading your existing saw.

Brock, my Laguna has the ability for the fence to lay flat, rather than vertical. Check your saw to see if you can remove the fence and reattach it in low form for close work?

Very nice D.L., I too just got a new addition. I went a little cheaper as I have no interest in resawing ant this time. I got a barly used Craftsman 14" proffessial that has had the 1 1/2hp motor. A close frind of mine bought it less than six months ago. He resently desided to upgrade to a Jet-18" so he sold it to me for $275. Ball bearing guides nice table, fence is desent. The only thing I don't like is that when the blade guide is above 4" table clearance you can not see the blade on the wheel through the tracking window due to the guide arm.

MichaelP, Thanks, it sounds like you got a good deal on the 14. The 12in.Craftsman I was using was just one of the lesser saws. I cant complain about it though as I have used it for many years without trouble.
