Saw this on eBay. What do you guys think?

The kit includes two anodized aluminum connecting strips (lightweight and a great conductor of sound) which have Helicoil inserts. Also included is all the fastening hardware which includes the stainless steel threaded inserts for the heel. Step-by-step instructions.

Yes, I think it's very interesting/appealing too, enough so that I bought one. It looks like a 'different take' on the bolt on system, and maybe he's 'onto something'. I wouldn't buy a bunch of them, and it looks simple enough to copy cheaply. The eBay seller was Luthier's CoolTools, here's his emai rick@michelettiguitars.com

It does look interesting but I'd be afraid of developing a buzz with all that metal in there. It's probably just my wierd way of looking at things...

I've got one ordered, and I'll post a review when I get the kit. From the picture, it appears that those two aluminum bars are mortised into the neck. Not clear how or if they are attached to the fretboard expension. We'll see.

CrowDuck, Am really interested in your experience especially after my last neck experience. Looks as easy as any bolt on system I have seen. Bookmarking the home page now.

aside from it being aluminum (which makes no difference I think), you
can make the same thing out of wood for a few pennies, and use inserts,
or t-nuts for the bolt section. Plus this one only has two bolts near the
front, and you want two near the back too. Or if you have the truss rod
through the neck two larger ones centered wit one in front and one in
back. IF not sometimes things don't pull down as smooth, as well as it
leaves a bit of room for shifting.

The system looks nice (seeing it's based off Dana's system) but IMO it's
WAY overpriced, but hey it's your money!

Yes, I agree, it is pricey. And I may never actually use it in a build. I'm really just interested to see how it works, and to see if there's anything new or different about the system, and if it contributes to the 'knowledge base' regarding bolt on necks. I've got your video, and have studied the Taylor video as well. Call this purchase 'educational', maybe I'll wind up incorporating something from all of them.
