I just picked up the current issue of ShopNotes. This issue features a nicely designed shop built thickness sander. It's only obvious drawback is that it is mounted on your tablesaw and uses the arbor for power. It would be a simple matter to bild a stand and mount a motor beneath.

It's a good reference for anyone considering the project.

Nifty Mr. Davis. The clear hood threw me there for a second. I thought, "Gee that looks dangerous," thinking it was open. I agree, a guy wouldn't want to tie up a table saw.

There is also a nice article on brazing broken band saw blades for those that might be interested. Looks rather simple and inexpensive.
