The other day I started a thread about "Vendor Frustrations". In it, I voiced my unhappiness over one transaction with a vendor I'd done business with in the past, and had been a very satisfied customer.
In doing this, I feel I wronged the constituancy of the OLF, and that vendor, Louis Iturra of Iturra Design. For the record, he has always been an extremely generous individual with his knowledge and expertise. I however, forgot all that when I posted that message.
Although I didn't mean to make him look bad in doing so, I can see where it could have had that effect.

The last thing I would want is to ever have my words cause harm to another person.
Just as important to me, is that I don't want to be known as the guy who whines over stupid silly things, and goes to cyber space to air their grievances.
By doing so, I wronged not only Louis, but the good folks here on the OLF, and myself.

I want to apologize to everyone here for being so stupid, and petty. It was really dumb and immature.

I aslo want to apologise to Larry, to whom I was most rude, and really didn't deserve what I gave him.

Mostly, I apologise to a very hard-working and innocent victim of my rant, Louis Iturra, who didn't deserve the lack of respect and consideration I showed by starting that thread here.

I ask everyone's forgiveness, and hope to make ammends as best I can.

Don, one thing about this forum is that often it is like a bunch of guys sittin around a camp fire shootin the breeze. Thats a real nice thing. You were miffed and voiced your opinion. I read all of the post, I can't remember you saying any bad about Louis Iturra, just you were upset in the service. when it was brought to your attention that it was a two person show I seem to recall you saying you had no idea and that you now understand. You also stated they had always given you great service and will go back. I believe you did nothing wrong, you stated a feeling which you also ammended when you recieved more facts. That in itself is mature!! But it was still very knoble of you to step up and apalogise. You were not stupid, petty, dumb or immature.. just a little tweaked.. Just my 2 cents

Double good on ya, Don. Not to worry about me...the bomb squad made a clean sweep of the shop I was a bit more harsh than needed in my post and I apologize to you for that. I learned long ago there are consequences when poking the bull...I just never learned not to poke the bull. Thank you for the PM

Don, it takes a man to tell how he feels and it takes a stronger one to come forward publicly and do what you've jut done. That just showed us how big hearted you are and that we all have our moments. There are a few members here that i had to apologize to for my moments . I'm just proud to have you as a friend and you can count on me for support when having good and bad days chum.

Could some one please explain to me this concept you call "wrong"??

Onya Don, we have all been there and were are all allowed a dummy spit now and then, it's good to clear your gripes. But if ever you feel you did a bit too much clearing, then the main thing is to display the grace to admit your mistakes. You've done just that in a dignified and mature manner, well done.

Cheers

Kim

Thanks Don, we need to ave folks like you remind us that there are those who are thiking outside of their own needs and desires and about the feelings and reputations of others.

I've experineced some frustrating situations with vendors in the past, but try to remind myself that I am on the vendor end of the relationship that I have with each of my customers. When I remember that, I always understand since i can run onto every imaginable obstacle when completing a guitar...especially when I've promised dlivery by a particulr date and all seems to go wrong or needs to be done twice.

All the best,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars

I've been dealing with a "acknowledged" defective $200 carbide blade for a couple of months. Still no credit. If they issue a credit to my Visa, I have no beef. But I'm beginning to want to squawk about it.

So Don, we all deal with the temptation to gripe out loud. Most of the time, as we evidenced with Colin's circle cutter, vendors want to "make it right". They have limitations too and run out of stock they sell as in your case.

We've all learned by your situation to as they used to say, "Walk a mile in the other man's moccasins." Thanks Don for being you.

Don,

Wow, that is one of the best apology letters I've ever read! Well done. Frankly, I still think Mr. Iturra came out of your original thread looking very good, now you do, too.
