Warning-The 14" Ridgid bandsaw is on sale at HD for $349.99 plus whatever your local governmental entity requires. It too, was rated a best buy in FWW. The 178 lb. box fell into the drive up right in front of me, and it was so crowded there(it's 67F here today) there was nothing I could do but toss it into the truck. Well, not me personally; I threatened two young men in funky orange vests with dire consequences if they did not clear my path in that manner. Now if I can recruit some help, it might get assembled some day. I assembled the 400 lb. table saw myself and it took some interesting leverage planning to get it done. Darn, I used to be kind of a "bull." But,hey, I'm alive and kickin'.

I bought my Ridgid bandsaw a week ago. I've resawn every board in sight. Production is much faster. No doubt the best $350 I've spent in a long time.

Yep-that's the one. Lots of assembly required. Nice castiron frame and table.Things will be safe until assembly. Bright orange though, won't go with my bathroom decor. Best regards, MT

Congrats Mike, i wanna buy me one of those too, sure sounds better than the two bandsaws i have here now

the first one is a small 9" from Mastercraft and the second one is a 14" Delta from the 40's. It'llbe the same as you guys when i'll buy mine, my wife will have to bolt the furniture down!

Is it possible to get a riser block with this brand, that would allow resawing 12" max depth of cut ? The price is really competitive also!

Thanks

Serge

I have the same saw, expt mine is several years old, and painted grey. Yes Rigid sells a riser block kit. Special ordered from home depot, it took a couple of weeks. Home depot will not have the longer blades, so you will have to order from other sources. I get mine at Woodcraft. It doesn't like the 3/4" blades. I use a 1/2" blade for resawing.

Thanks Al, maybe are there stores that can sell 'em with the riser block already in stock? when i'm ready to go for it, i'll have to check with that in mind.

Thanks again

Serge
Is the Rigid the one that advertises free parts for life on warranty repairs?
They do on my lam.trimmer. Even covers brushes! I had to do an on-line registration for the extra coverage, but it was pretty hassle-free.
