Hello all, I haven't seen one of these in a while, so here we go:

P.S. I think this is some of that crazy Mahogany LMI has for 600$/set. Enjoy!

Based on the arm rest I say Tony Karol. But I'm not aware that he scored any of that Sapele. But that just means that I didn't see any "progress" pics.

A lot of people call Sapele a Mahogany. All North American, Cuban or Honduran quilted Mahoganys I have ever seen has been more of a carmel color and the quilting is more like the quilting in Maple. I am pretty sure this is Sapele

Hesh, the bindings are bloodwood... Complements the rest of that 'gitter' quite nicely...

Jason has even taken the extra step of inlaying some of that bloodwood in the back braces of the guitar... You can see it very faintly in the link, but I remember one of his previous guitars (dream series number 1) for sale on dreamguitars.com that had a very good pictures of the laminated braces. Looked mighty wiked!

Actually I do have some of that Sapele - in fact LMI bought some from the same place I got mine, shame they are now asking 600 a set - guess I know now how to price the finished products !!!! I have 3 on the go, and some other sets in the stash -plus a couple, actually 3 electric tops from the same log. PIc when I get them in to finish. Cool armrest BTW - I saw that one a while back and thought way cool idea.

That armrest does look great! But is it just me or is that getting a close to being to big?

Sure would be hard to beat that guitar for looks.

Josh

Yep, that's Quilt Sapele all right. Got mine from Bob, and paid less than 600 for 4 sets of stuff that's at least that nice. And a huuuuge arm rest. Still, an attractive instrument.
