My foam is fairly stiff, I purchased out mcmaster carr years ago. I don't really remamber the compressive strength, but remember taking it into consideration.
I've seen set ups similar to mine with the clamps you show also. It would be faster than my set up, but mine only takes probably takes under 2 minutes.
