Guys, thanks for the input, I mixed up some LMI white with some sawdust, filled in the separation areas between the strip and back and let sit. Came back and sanded it and it turned out beautiful, never new I messed up. Thanks..................

Then I trimmed the excess wood from the back on my trusty Band saw getting it ready to brace feeling pretty good about my success ....Unfortunately, I pulled the wrong template and cut the back to small........This back was just not intended to go on this guitar but another, emailed AC Tonewoods and ordered another set.........

Just wanted to thank you all for your help

Thanks

Mike

Before you throw that back away, how much smaller is it? I usually have
templates for a particular body shape that reflect both the outside and
inside shape. If you used a template that's the inside shape, you might
still be able to use that back. Remember, you will be routing off quite a
bit of the back when you cut the channel for the perfling and binding.
That back may still work. Just a thought.

I had marked a chalk line on the back plates when I was glueing them up before I put the backstrip on several days prior. I accidentally used a smaller version and slightly different bout width that was a different Dread style. I did not catch this for some reason and after the Dremmel ordeal and seeing how nice it came out, I proceeded and went directly to the Band Saw. I still plan to use the back, it is really nice. I ordered another set that came off the same raw stock from AC Tonewoods (near perfect match) and will use that back for this guitar and then use the sides coming with the new set and match to this back and do the smaller version. It will all work out fine in the end. Fortunately, I had a couple of others going so I was able to just leave this one and move to the others.

Thanks for you reply and input.

Mike
