I was going to wait until I got into my new shop/home but finding the right shop/home seems almost impossible these days...so I went ahead and bought the new (or not so new) JET 22-44 Plus. Got the feed tables as well. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about this machine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've had a Performax 22-44 for a year or so. I like it, I use it all the time, but, like any power tool it takes some practice learning how to adjust and use it efficiently.   My conveyor belt (not covered under warranty) came unglued after a few months, I may have overtensioned it, they were a $100 to replace but now they can be found for $35. Takes up a lot of space, throws my 110 breaker often, to conserve space I don't use the in-feeds and out-feed table add-ons.   Sanding wood with a Titebond glue line joint tends to put a hard stripe on the sanding belt which are around $6 each. Changing belts is quick and easy. With carefull adjustment and patient incremental sanding you can get tolerances within a few thousandths for thicknessing tops and backs.

I still use this machine on a daily basis. Does a good job for the money. I buy cloth 100 grit conveyor belts for $15 from Kim atdiscount_abrasives@yahoo.com Also 50 yd rolls of 3" wide abrasives. Good service and pricing.
