Hello all,
I've had a few requests for templates for the dovetail tenon and mortise, but don't own them myself. Was wondering if anyone would be willing to send me specs on them if they have them.
Thanks!
Craig

Craig, I simply took a Martin Kit Neck for a D28 and copied it onto my wood pattern. I spent days figuring out how to cut this sucker. It is a challenge for sure.

I can trace the outline of it if you like and mail it to you. I do use straight cutters to step cut the dovetail, then switch to the dovetail angle. For me it takes three cuts.

Early on, trying to hog it all out at once, were some trying times. Bits came loose and fouled up the cut. Now, I just take my time and make the three passes to get a good cut.

Craig, I have a set of the Stew Mac templates for the dovetail joint. I can trace them onto a couple sheets of paper and send them to you if you like. Or, if you want, I could loan the templates themselves to you and you can send them back when you are finished with them.

Let me know,

Wow, thanks a lot guys! If you both wouldn't mind sending tracings (just in case there are any slight differences), that would be great!
My address is 162 Pocono Mtn. Lake Est.

Thanks again!

No problem Craig. It will probably be Monday before I can get it mailed out though.
