Thanks Jim for your kind words.

Have you been hanging out with some of my 2nd graders and collecting text for this layout? Just kidding!

Very first impressions:

A balanced, symmetrical, and concise presentation.

If I may ask, to whom are you trying to appeal?

I ask that sincerely as I am also an architectural hobbiest and along with knowing period stylings and trends, I have learned a little about color as well.

The sight is very neutral and flat in color which is great for an exclusively male clientele. However, you could add a blue or green and appeal to either or both genders, provided it's not a pastel.

Just some thoughts.......

Jeanne

Michael,

I really dig your revised site! Now all the colors work together and compliment each other. Now the wood colored buttons make sense.

Wow, Roger. I take that as a deep compliment.

It's been a lot of work, but I guess it's been worth it. As you probably saw, I've also revised the content quite a bit. And I have the folks here at the forum to thank for that. I think it reads much better now.

Still, the saga continues . . .

Oh, and those aren't just any old wood-colored buttons. Those are Gen-U-Wine cocobolo buttons, from a piece of coco I scanned into my 'puter with my trusty Epson scanner and converted to a small jpg image.

Best,

Michael

Micheal: It looks a lot better! I like it! Very OLFesque!

James Orr: I checked out your site and LATIN? Are you going to sell to Doctors and Priests? I speak a little latin and that's some heavy shitck you got written there!

Pain - Famine - Sickness - does not sell guitars!!

Button, Button, whose got the button? The menu stinks!

And I couldn't get your photo pop-up no matter how many times I refreshed! It's like you never even finished the page!

Actually, I like the layout! I go for a little more simple myself but that's just an aesthetic! Usually all Flash sites are a little big, do you know how big that one is? Good job!

Yeah, it ended up being that way. Wasn't really intentional, but I think I wound up with almost the same background color.

Still can't get the menu buttons to line up right in IE. They're fine in Mozilla, which is what I always use.

About the latin, Billy. That is a common technique used by layout artists. They insert latin text just so one can see what the layout looks like with text, but without the distraction of its content.

Best,

Michael

I was joking, It has been about 30 years since High School latin, but, even at that, what I was reading was pretty gruesome! I know it was a concept page! A good one too! IMHO!
