Graham,

That's great! I saw something similar where a scammer was trying to bilk an ebay seller out of a laptop without paying for it. The scammer ended up paying something like $400 in duties and ended up with a laptop made of wood. I'll see if I can find it.

I love this stuff, thieves burned by their own greed.

It seems that scamming a scammer still makes you a scammer too...

I'm not sure we're justified in that. I read that, and I'm thinking that the guy went through all that trouble to carve those wooden objects, and was just another victim, even he was trying to victimize.

Ethics...doesn't anyone teach ethics anymore?

Yup.

Yeah, Don, I thought of that too.

Now the Powerbook scam, I have no sympathy for that guy.
It seems that scamming a scammer still makes you a scammer too...
Yes, good point. But most of us don't mind if a "real" scammer gets scammed.
Ethics?
Sometimes it is fun to throw ethics out the window and give someone what the deserve. Think of it as stress reduction.

Generally speaking it is best to wait and let someone with legal and moral authority to do that.
In this case, this guy probably won't get what he deserves until after he dies.

The fun part in this is to see a scammer who thinks he's being really clever getting a good treatment by a person who's more clever than him! i usually don't think that we should make our own justice but in some cases, it's just fun to see some crooks get caught red handed!
