Well it's been a while since I haven't seen one of these threads and I thought it would be fun to share what kind of music we like to listen to as we build geetars!

I'm still stuck in a Don Ross phase. I'll aslo listen to Tommy Emmanuel. Of course there's always place for a little Stevie Ray Vaughn and some Coltrane and the obligatory Kind of Blue (Miles Davis)...

If it's a day when I'm not running machines, I've got NPR on. There's nothing more frustrating than missing a few minutes of an interview and not being able to figure out what the heck they are talking about.
If it's a machine day, I usually just stream some old country, U2, Tommy, or show tunes. (Ok, no, I don't listen to show tunes, just checking to see if you were paying attention)

WUMB has 5 different 24 hr. per day folk streams.

And... 24 hr. per day live folk radio

I haven't listened to anything else in my shop since I found this! Please give this a try, it is without question the best addition to my shop since my thickness sander!!!

Well, my IPOD/speakers are on random shuffle so I never know what will
come up next.
Anything from Laurence Juber to Beethoven to CCR to Dylan to the Beatles to
the Dixie Chicks to Bob Marley

I have a very diverse music taste. So I with over 4000 songs on the IPOD, it
is like a box of chocolate...you never know what you are going to get

I listen to NPR and Air America when I want talk, and when I want music I also really love the Jackson Browne acoustic CD! Fantastic. Also Richard Thompson, Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull/Ian Anderson solo Cds. Dixie Chicks, too- you can hear one of my Octave Mandolins on "Silent House" from the newest grammy-winning Cd.

Mark, I've enjoyed hearing my guitars on others recordings but... having one of your instruments on an album of this caliber... that's got to be a thrill! congratulation!!!

Today I listened to Bryan Shupe and The Rubber Band. I love the song "Banjo Boy".

Paul/Mark - who is NPR?

I don't listen to music in my shop normally -- though have found listening to the Tragically Hip works well with wet sanding

I've been going through a U2 phase lately, and Tom Petty.

My three year old daughter asked me to play some Stevie Ray the other night. That blew me away

Rediscovering some classic Chick Corea. Watching some old clips of his Electrik Band stuff.

A three year old with such taste is a rare thing.

Anthony, NPR is National Public Radio. I believe it's similar in charter to your CBC radio.

I've been feeling nastalgic for my youth lately. Iron Maiden, UFO, Vandenberg, etc.

I've also gotten hooked on XM 59, Soul Street. It's all the cheesy 70's stuff like the Gap Band, Lou Rauls, Kool & the Gang, Bootsie. Great stuff.

I've been listening to some old standards like Doc Watson and Earl Skruggs and Ricky Skaggs.   Fast pickers all.

I have a dvd player and TV in my shop, some of my favorites to play in the background while I work:

Christopher Guest movies (Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind)
Simpsons
Arrested Development
The Office (USA and UK)
documentaries and concert DVD's
