what a beaut, the story of the burn just adds to the thing, almost a built in 'mojo'. guitars with a bit of history are great. a few chinese whispers down through the years and it'll be legendary!

cant stop loking at the 3rd pic - drool!

I want to personaly thank all of you, I am a big fan of you guys also, and I feel lucky to know all of you.

Rod, Yeah i did change back to a belly bridge. I decided to do that for two reasons, one for the increased glue surface area, and second for the increased weight/density of the larger bridge.
I find that the belly bridge sounds a bit warmer on this body design, which has been the goal for me when it comes to voicing my OM`s. I guess i needed to see for myself why Martin made the change from P-bridges to bellys, and what changes accure.

Hank, thanks for the history sheet idea... should I add the part where i went bizerk and threw the guitar out the shop door and onto my front yard?

Steve K, thanks especially for your sensitive comment, it did indeed break my spirit for a while there. I cant belive i was able to recover the instrument and have it turn out as good as it did, i feel very lucky.

Terry K, I use rosewood for both the f-board and bridge. I hav`nt been a big fan of ebony, i find the rosewood more stable and easier to fret and re-fret.

Now that my Jimi Hendrix act is over, I`ll be moving on to my Pete Townsend act next!

you guys have warmed my heart, thanks.
Matt

Nice recovery Matt!

I've been way too uptight in my first two builds, but as I keep building and
learning, I see that it's almost all fixable.
This recovery of yours was very uplifting and inspirational to me.

Matt,
Great looking guitar. Excellent job on the restore. You now have a great selling point: Born of fire and ready for blazing fast solos!
