Welcome to our forum Peter. I remember back when you were originally asking for guitars on the Acoustic Guitar magazine forum. Even then it was a bit controversial. I remember that one of the initial donations was from England but was unaware or had forgotten the Dave White was the contributor. Kudos Dave, but I'd expect no less from you. I'm very glad to see that your project evolved and has turned out so well. Looking forward to the reviews of the Anasazi guitar.

Peter my suspicion is that many of these guitars don't see much playing action (they are quite literally a work of art) but did you do anything special to consider the finish wear... particularly in the third one where their is finish on the fingerboard?

You can see my wheels turning... right?

the fingerboard is all inlay. so no finish on that.

I play the hell out of these guitars. I treat them like all my guitars. they are tools to make music first and foremost.   The idea of the finish getting banged up , to me, is good. I love the mojo that would create.

I'm a fingerstylist ,mostly. The first thing I do is get rid of the pickguard and will often reduce the factory-top finish.

Being lacquer, I can repair most any damage and will for anyone who   wants a pristene surface.   But the Martin sounds so great. The use of materials there plus the wideboard 00 shortscale makes this a players guitar. I hope it isn't just going to end up on a wall or vault.

I can see these older, yellowed, cracked, and burned out. They'll look great. A guitar's life well-lived.   A clear pickguard would be fine by me. Working around a pickguard would also be fine. I just don't like those stiff pieces of plastic near a soundhole. Just seems to impair sound.

My dream..............is for a good , working musician to play the hell out of the Anasazi guitar. Its a "holy grail" sound that should be seen and heard.

Peter,
I'm hoping to shoot down to meet you soon, I live in Saylorsburg, PA on
the southern edge of the Poconos. Being so close, I'd love to pop into your
studio to see your beautiful work....and maybe bring along a guitar or two of
mint for you to play.

Regards,
Kevin Gallagher/Omega Guitars

Anytime Kevin.

Just moved to Naz so we're restoring the house. studio too. will have a retail shop soon as well. give me a bit of time or not...........you're welcome anytime.

Dale Unger has his archtop making school here now and a number of luthiers are moving to the area. Seems like Naz is becoming guitar city.

Love it. Pachenco of the north........

That's some mighty fine work! As another OCD guy, I can really appreciate what goes into that. The second pic looks straight out of the Book of Kells. Stunning work.

Frank Finocchio is out in Easton and he offers excellent instruction too. Super nice guy to boot.

Wow, I wish I had opened this earlier. The two guitars I'm completing
right now will have similar headstocks. I thought they'd reflect my
personality and be more unique than an inlay. I'm really happy to see
something similar.

That is beautiful indeed. I am impressed with the creative directions guitar building can take that never occur to me until after its done.
