Colin - Thanks again. I'll let you know about the fan frets. They certainly give good tension on the low strings for tunings down to C but are a little bit more of a stretch there. I'm still surprised how sweet the trebles can sound dropped down at short scale.

By the way do you know who made the orpherion - I probably owe his surviving relatives a licence fee

Typically cool Dave White guitar. I love it, you build whatever you like and they're all uniquely yours. I love your upper bout. And those little edge ports are cool. I'm doing one of mine now where the sound hole is in the corner of the upper bout and wraps around onto the side like a combination soundhole/soundport. The top and back also overlap the sides violin style.
Cool stuff dave but I'll have to wait till I get off this dialup to listen.
