Can I ask a question what cut of Flakes to DA would you use for this approach, and is the snding sealer just a weak mix of flakes and alcohol ?

2# cut is what I would use. The Zinsser's Seal Coat is 2# cut. The Zinsser's Sanding Sealer is a 3# cut, but it is not wax free, so if anyone goes to get some be sure to get the Zinsser's Seal Coat 100% wax free and not the Sanding Sealer it is cofussing since they are both really sanding sealers but there is a big big diff...

sorry for the previous mis spell (zinnzer's )

This is the stuff to get

This stuff is not a weak cut I use it straight out of the can to FP with. Well I put it in squeeze bottle Ya know what I mean. This is the same formula they use in their pre bottled FP but with out the oil added.MichaelP38597.6383796296

by the way this stuff is mix of amber and blonde so this will leave more of a vintage look finish than extra blonde flakes cut to 2#

I want you to be aware that with this method ther is a chance that your pad will try to stick on you as it picks up shellac. Change your pad often. use a little bit of virgin olive oil (3 drops max) added to the pad as a lubercant if needed (don't worry it won't harm the finish) and if you do stick don't panic just get a clean pad and stiff or sprit off the area with the clean pad.

your stiffing or spriting motion should be a firm quick motion but dont press down on the surface then move make the contact to the surface a a glide on and glide off motion. Most sticking comes from a momentary pause in the stroke.MichaelP38597.6782986111
