That's too much money to pay for that amount of redwood. And what we really need to see is the edge of the board on the side to see how much runout there is. In flamed redwood it's an indicator of how well it might work. The flamed redwood market is so small I wouldn't bother unless it was for your personal use or for friends. In fact, I kind of feel the same way about the whole specialty luthier wood market. There are already a ton of guys out there that are established. Just my opinion. I think it would be tougher to do this than to become a luthier these days. But if you want to compare prices on flamed redwood billets, go look at PNH (Pacific Native Hardwoods) here in Wilton, California. I'm sure they have a website.
